Community, Language, Employment, And Resource Programing Effecting The Home

Community building centers around internal community development through monthly support groups and outreach to the external community through cultural training workshops with local police, social workers, hospitals, and schools.

Linguistically appropriate services (translators) coupled with an English as a second language (ESL) learning program are offered in the training center and on-call to assist in various appointments.

Employment liaisons provide Job Skills Training, running workshops to assist participants in transferring their previous job experience and skills to a resume format, helping them to identify appropriate job opportunities, assisting with job applications, and interview preparation and readiness skills.

Resource assistance is offered through topic-specific SBAOA workshops, group appointments to Government agencies to apply for assistance, on-site social services, and fostering new and ongoing relationships with other local organizations that service refugees.
